Following rules and best practices Twitter

What are the Twitter limits?

We don’t limit the number of followers you can have. However, we do monitor how aggressively users follow other users. We try to make sure that none of our limits restrain reasonable usage, and will not affect most Twitter users.
We monitor all accounts for aggressive following and follow churn (repeatedly following and unfollowing large numbers of other users). You can read more about these below, but if you don’t follow or unfollow hundreds of users in a single day, and you aren’t using automated methods of following users, you should be fine.
Please note that Twitter does not permit any automated or bulk following or unfollowing behavior. Please review our Automation rules and best practices for more information on automating your account.

What is aggressive following?

Aggressive following is defined as indiscriminately following hundreds of accounts just to garner attention. However, following a few users if their accounts seem interesting is normal and is not considered aggressive.

What is aggressive follow churn?

If you decide to follow someone and then change your mind later, you can just visit the person’s profile page and unfollow them. Aggressive follow churn is when an account repeatedly follows and then unfollows a large number of users. This may be done to get lots of people to notice them, to circumvent a Twitter limit, or to change their follower-to-following ratio. These behaviors negatively impact the Twitter experience for other users, are common spam tactics, and may lead to account suspension.

Are there additional limits if you are following 5000+ accounts?

The rules about aggressive following and follow churn still apply. In addition, every user can follow 5000 people total. Once you’ve followed 5000 users, there are limits to the number of additional users you can follow: this limit is different for every user and is based on your ratio of followers to following.
When you hit this limit, we’ll tell you by showing an error message in your browser. You’ll need to wait until you have more followers in order to follow more users—for example, you can't follow 10,000 people if only 100 people follow you. When you reach a daily or total limit and we show you an error message, you've hit a technical limit imposed to limit egregious behavior by spam accounts and to prevent strain on the site. These are just the technical limits for your account; in addition, you are prohibited from aggressive following behaviors. These behaviors may result in account suspension, regardless of your account's technical ratio.
Limits improve site performance by ensuring that when we send a person's message to all of their followers, the sending of that message is meaningful. Follow limits cannot be lifted by Twitter, and everyone is subject to them, including verified and developer accounts. Based on current behavior in the Twitter community, we've concluded that this is both fair and reasonable.

Why does Twitter monitor following behavior at all? Isn’t this a social network?

Twitter works quite differently from social networks: when you accept friend requests on other social networks like Facebook, it usually means you appear in that person's network and they appear in yours. Following on Twitter is different because following is not mutual. Twitter allows people to opt-in to (or opt-out of) receiving a person's updates without requiring a mutual relationship.
Limits on Twitter alleviate some of the strain on the invisible part of Twitter, which prevents error pages and downtime on the visible part. For the sake of reliability, we've placed limits on actions like following, API requests per hour, and number of updates per day (see this page for more information on updating and API limits).
Finally, follower violations are one tactic that spammers often use to abuse Twitter. Monitoring for abuse is one way to reduce spam on Twitter.

What are third party applications to “Get More Followers Fast!”?

You may encounter websites or applications claiming they can help you get lots of followers quickly. These programs may ask for payment for followers, or ask you to follow a list of other users in order to participate. Using these is not allowed according to the Twitter Rules.
  •  The Twitter Rules addresses the use of these programs by disallowing: using or promoting third-party sites that claim to get you more followers (such as follower trains, sites promising ‘more followers fast,’ or any other site that offers to automatically add followers to your account).
When you give out your username and password to another site or application, you are giving control of your account to someone else. They may then post duplicated, spam, or malicious updates and links, send unwanted direct messages, aggressively follow, or violate other Twitter rules with your account. When these applications do add followers to your account, they are often abandoned or bot accounts that are not reading your updates. If a third-party application causes your account to violate the Twitter Rules, your account may be suspended.
Some third-party applications have been implicated in spam behavior, fraud, the selling of usernames and passwords, and phishing. Please do not give your username and password out to any third-party application that you have not thoroughly researched.
Revoke access for any third-party application that you don't recognize by visiting the Applications tab in Account Settings.

Are there following limits if I'm whitelisted?

Some API administrators have whitelist status so their applications can function without hitting certain system limits. Whitelisting means that an application can have more API requests per hour; it does not increase the follow limits. All whitelisted accounts are still subject to follow limits.

So how am I supposed to get followers?

Remember, Twitter isn’t a race to get the most followers. If you follow users that you’re interested in and post meaningful content, it’s more likely that legitimate users will find you and read your updates. People follow other users on Twitter to read updates that are interesting to them. Aggressively following and unfollowing accounts is frustrating to other Twitter users and degrades the Twitter experience for everyone.

Which Tools are the Helpful Tools for the Day-to-Day Content Marketer

You need tools that will help you generate ideas. You also need tools that will make the overall writing process easier. You probably even need tools to market the content for you. Well, here’s the good news about the internet and content marketing: there are many tools out there built just to help you as a content marketer, and I have a handy list for you.

I. Tools That Help with Content Discovery

Before you even begin the process of writing, you need to come up with ideas that are going to be a hit. There are several amazing tools out there that can help with this.

1. Buzzsumo

Buzzsumo is definitely one of my favorites. All you do is type in a phrase or a word and Buzzsumo shows you the most popular posts from around the web containing that word or phrase.
Let’s use an example. Say we’re working with a client in the travel industry and they want us to come up with amazing content ideas. Their goal is to get right in front of their primary audience, who are high-end travelers.
So you head over to Buzzsumo to see what’s currently working on the web in terms of content that could appeal to the target audience. Buzzsumo will use two ways to find this information: a keyword based search and a domain based search.
If the client is targeting keywords like “luxury holidays” or “luxury honeymoon destinations,” you put those into the tool and Buzzsumo will return some results. The tool will typically filter out pages that are focused on selling products and services so you get keyword results that are non-commercial in nature.

This is a great way to see what’s already on the web and get ideas for the target audience.

2. Buffer

For managing your social media, there really is no better tool. And I’ve tried several! If you need high-traffic, volume-account maintenance, Buffer is your tool. From Buffer, you can manage all your social accounts and then some (in our Business account, we have all our staff’s profiles hooked up, too); and schedule posts across all profiles, with the ability to tailor your messages per platform.

Their blog also hosts a wide variety of very useful posts and assembled research.

3. SEMrush

There’s no doubt as a content marketer you’ve heard of SEMrush. This amazing tool makes researching keywords a piece of cake. Once you’ve done your keyword research, all you do is add keywords and track their position in all major search engines. This is one of the most essential SEM tools for serious content marketers. Not only can you find all the keywords for existing web pages based on ranking, you can also find statistical details regarding related keywords.

SEMrush works best when you have a pro account, but for beginners new to SEMrush research, you can start with a free trial and once you get used to the features you can upgrade your account for a more detailed and complete analysis of all your competitor’s websites. Here’s what the dashboard looks like on my pro account:
There’s so much in this one tool. A few things you can access in your SEMrush account from the Dashboard: domain analytics, in-depth keyword research, running projects and analytics on all your websites, support for multiple projects, ability to do a site audit, and more! It’s worth its weight in gold.

II. Tools for Your Writing

The below tools are ideal for helping you to write better, but there’s a bonus: they also help you create content faster.

4. Google Docs
Google Docs is a great alternative to WordPress. You can write your content first in Google Docs which will help you spot spelling and grammar errors. You can also collaborate with other writers when you need a little help.
One of the cool things about this tool is that you can share a link with anyone you choose and they can watch you write, live. They’ll see the words appear in the document as you type them. The user who’s viewing the doc live with you, appears on the top right – in the screenshot below, I’m working on a doc with Heather, who shows up with a little pink bar under her name.
As a writer, it’s a fun way to give your audience a glimpse into your composition process, or a very useful way to collaborate with your staff or other people who can add to your brainpower in creation.
Perhaps one of the best settings for writing in Google Docs is that you can set the zoom to “Fit.” Then go and select View > Full Screen. It’s as clean as working in Office Word!

You’ll still be able to see your browser frame but you can make use of Chrome’s presentation mode to get rid of the frame. And there you have it – all background distraction blocked.

5. Copyscape
Crafting high quality content takes time and dedication. Copyscape is your best friend when it comes to being confident that your content is original. This online plagiarism checker is used to check the originality of new content, search for copies of existing content online and prevent duplicate content. The Premium copy search will cost you $0.05, but it’s worth it—it checks your content and tries to find any duplicates from Google. Here’s what it looks like doing a search on content that hasn’t been published anywhere else yet:

In short, it’s ideal for ensuring your content is unique and not published anywhere else on the web.

6. Canva

You’ve probably heard that your brain can process visual information up to 60,000 times faster than it can process textual information. Go ahead and give your readers something worth looking at. You don’t need to be an artist to do this, Canva will help you create great looking images, flyers, headers and more. Plus, it’s SO easy! Just login and create an image from one of their multiple templates available.

I love it—I have around fifty templates going in my dashboard, for images on everything from Twitter chats to my blog headers.

7. Shareist

From embedding videos and links to capturing content around the web, Shareist will help with your entire content marketing cycle. It’s especially ideal for small to medium businesses. With this tools you can add content from sources such as Feedly, RSS and image and product sources.
You can also schedule posts to share to your social media platforms in customized timeslots. Shareist further allows you to repeat content on a schedule or even recycle content when you don’t have something fresh to post. Content will be saved in your library for you to use later on social media, newsletters and blog posts.

8. IFTTT

“If This, Then That” is a great little automation tool that will let you effortlessly schedule events, organize email, set reminders and sync files while tracking the hours you spend working on your content. It works based on recipes, created by users for users all for free. You just enable a recipe through the platform you’re using it on (Twitter, for example, if you’re automating building a list), and IFTTT hooks it up for life. You can also connect apps like Instagram, Twitter and Facebook for a wholly streamlines marketing experience.
Just be wary using IFTTT of automating too much. Today’s crowd is smart and will sniff out a “spammy” brand or marketer very quickly.

9. Trello

This is a great project management tool that makes collaboration easy and even fun. Trello is basically an online version of the old-fashioned Sticky Note.
The Trello board is a web page with lists laid horizontally so you can get an overall view of your project. The items in the lists are called cards. You can drag and drop those cards onto other lists when you need to reorder things. Individual cards can contain images, attachments, checklists, colored labels, deadline dates and even discussion notes.
What’s more, this tool allows you to get feedback on what to do next. Trello offers a voting feature so users can vote on cards. So let’s say you need ideas for content from your followers, Trello lets them add ideas to your lists and vote on the ideas they like best.

III. Tools for Distribution

You’ve come up with great ideas at this point and even generated some top-notch content. Now it’s time to promote it. Promoting content doesn’t have to be difficult. There are plenty of tools that will help you out.

10. ContentMarketer.io

The brainchild of Sujan Patel and Colin Mathews, ContentMarketer.io acts as an outreach campaign builder and collection tool all in one. You can use the tool to collect names of people who want to promote your content and then use email templates to let them know about your latest creation.
To use this tool, you will start by scanning your latest blog or uploading a CSV. Content Marketer will then hunt down Twitter handles, contact forms and email addresses of the people mentioned. You then skim through the list and remove anyone you don’t want to contact and information you think is inaccurate or duplicated. Finally, you can promote your content by sending tweets, direct messages and emails and start the process of building valuable relationships.

You can integrate this tool with Gmail, Twitter and Google Apps so you can do all your outreach in one place.

11. Yoast

Yoast will help to optimize your blog so you can enjoy maximized rankings. It doesn’t matter what format you have written in, be it e-books, blogs or web articles, Yoast is a great way to increase your traffic. This WordPress plugin allows you to plug in the necessary “tidbits” of good SEO copy: meta details, tag and focus keyword. Here’s what Yoast looks like on the backend of my blog post for 30 Killer Copywriting Tips:
The green on the top tab, where it says Content: web copywriting means the post is good to go and scores “green” out of Yoast’s green, red, and yellow scoring system.

Yoast will also generate a Google search result preview so you’ll see exactly how your content will look in Google SERPs when somebody searches for it. The plugin also ranks your SEO value overall page by page and gives recommendations on how to improve.

12. Click to Tweet

Did you know that if you use Click to Tweet to make certain phrases or quotes within your content tweetable, you actually get more social traffic?
How it works is that it allows you to add a link next to a quote you feel people would like to share on Twitter.
To add Click to Tweet to your blog, simply enter the quote you’d like people to share in the box on Click to Tweet’s site and click “generate link.” You can then use the URL that is generated for your anchor text.
You can add these to any part of your content, you don’t have to have a block quote. It may just be a nice little phrase that sums up your blog.
Remember to keep the quote short enough to allow people to retweet it in Twitter. Also remember to ensure you include a tiny URL of the post where the quote comes from.

13. Tweroid

It’s very possible that at the times you tweet, your followers aren’t online for whatever reason – time zones, work commitments and so forth. This tool helps you determine your optimal tweeting time to your audience to ensure you get maximum exposure.

14. Slideshare

I mentioned earlier how popular visuals have become (here’s a cool infographic from Hubspot to explain it better). So why not turn your content into an exciting, more appealing presentation? By submitting your content to Slideshare in a presentation format, you’re sure to enjoy extra traffic and a lot more branding.

15. Flare

Your social sharing buttons that you place with your content don’t need to be plain or ugly. Flare allows you to take control of how your sharing buttons look and will report on the number of clicks they get.

This is a pretty cool tool to attract and engage readers so do more social sharing across your content!

How to Increase Google PageRank of Your Web Site

PageRank of a website shows the importance of that website on World Wide Web. PageRank is a system of Google that ranks a web page. According to PageRank, the links acts as a vote. When a page is linked to another page of similar theme and category, it is casting a vote for it. The number of links on a web page that are casting vote is considered important.

The pages with high PR helps in increasing the PR of the page for which it casts a vote. The numbering of PageRank is 0 to 10. When a website or a web page is uploaded on web, its PageRank is 0. With the passage of time, the PageRank starts increasing when the page is linked with other related pages. The PR is assigned to every web page individually. The web page with PageRank 10 is the most important web page on the World Wide Web like Facebook.

To increase Google PageRank first thing that is needed are the backlinks. Link the page with the other pages but the most important thing that should be kept in mind is that the page should be linked with the relevant page. Try to get the links of pages with high PageRank having high traffic. Never link with the web pages with duplicate content and with the pages that are optimized with black hat techniques of SEO.  Quality of links is very important.

The second thing that can be done to increase the PageRank of a web page is to submit the URL of that page on different web directories and reference websites. Add unique and informative content on the pages of website. The SEO also boosts the PageRank of a page. For search engine optimization, use relevant keywords in the content. Take extra care of keyword density in content.

Do commenting, write articles and submit it with the page URL and participate in the forums. Join different forums, post the link of page on it with the related content to inform the people visiting that forum about your business or services. These people will be interested to click on it, and the traffic of page increases.

Article submission with URL of web page is a great way of generating new traffic. Join social media sites and write blog posts for backlinks to increase the PR of a page. By the way, you need to know the concept of no follow links ( rel=”nofollow” ) in order to fully understand which backlinks are useful in terms of PR, which does not affect PR but increase traffic and awareness only.

When a person registers a domain name, it is better to register it for more than 2 years. By registering it for many years, Google trust it and assign a PR to every page of a website depending on the backlinks. Purchasing an IP address for a domain is great because if a person shares an IP address with other webmasters (due to the spam activity done by another webmaster on the server) it can result in the ban of all the registered domains of that IP address.

Always take care of the things that can decrease the PageRank of the page like copy paste content because if a PageRank decreases once then it is very difficult to get it back up. Avoid linking with the spam websites.
Are You Struggle with Social Media Management?

Are You Struggle with Social Media Management?

You Struggle with Social Media Management?

struggleIf so, you’re not alone! Many of us struggle to keep on top of all the tasks required to be effective in marketing our businesses on social media. When it comes to SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING, there are many jobs including…
  • Publishing and schedule quality content
  • Engagement – responding to all the mentions and comments
  • Monitoring – keeping on top of all the mentions of certain hashtags and keywords for you and/or your competitors
  • Analytics and Reporting- to check how effective you’re doing with your social media efforts, digging deep into the data and making decisions on improving your strategy and systems.
  • The ability to delegate engagement and tasks to team members.

Tools to the Rescue?

rescueSo, maybe social media tools can come to the rescue here? Well, kind of… They’re certainly not going to solve all yourPROBLEMS. They’re not a replacement for planning and implementing a social media strategy. However, the right tool or series of tools can help you become much more effective and productive. It can also help you make smarter decisions and be quicker at reacting to opportunities, events and situations. Make sure you have a plan and a strategy first, but having the right tool or series of tools at the heart of your work is going to be vital – particularly as you scale things upwards.

What is a Social Media Management Tool?

There are so many social media tools out there. Many of us feel overwhelmed and confused by the choice. Many tools promise to solve all your problems without really explaining how they actually work. The “Social Media Management Tool” is a particular type of tool that tries to do it all. It aims to be “The One Tool that Rules them all”. Such social media management tools will allow you to publish and schedule content and help you engage with your mentions and comments across all your social networks. They aim to help you monitor important keywords and hashtags, whether that be your business, brand or product name or perhaps a certain hashtag or even words to do with your competitors. Social Media Management Tools also aim to help you analyse how you are doing by providing analytics andREPORTS for you to study. This can also communicate the effectiveness of your social media use to your team.

In Search of the “One Tool”

The One ToolI’ve mentioned quite a few jobs and features there! Does this “One Tool” actually exist? A tool that will integrate with all your social networks and fulfil all the jobs you want it to. Well, no… there is no perfect tool out there. I think you expected me to say that, but there are many tools that try, and there are some that do a pretty good job. ThePROBLEM is, that it’s a tricky job to find the best tool for your business. It’s a topic I spoke about at the New Media Europe Conference last year on HOW TO FINDthe Best Social Media Management Tool for Your Business”. I hope that the infographic will help you in your journey to find your One Tool.

What is G2Crowd?

g2crowdOn their about page, G2 Crowd, describes themselves as “the world’s leading business softwareREVIEW platform, leveraging its 70,000+ userREVIEWS read by nearly 600,000 software buyers each month to help them make better purchasing decisions”.  All the various B2B software technologies are listed by industry (email marketing, CRM, Social Media, etc.) and reviewed by their own users.

Is It Reliable?

G2Crowd have a strict authentication system for theirREVIEWING system. This makes sure each review actually comes from a real user of the respective software. It definitely takes quite a bit of effort to leave a review on G2Crowd. However, this means that the review can be trusted as from a real user. Business buyers now have transparency when evaluating their next B2B software subscription.

How did we choose the tools to create this infographic?

We usedINFORMATION from this quadrant published by G2Crowd. I might be a little pedantic, but not all the tools listed in the quadrant are true Social Media Management Tools. As I mentioned above, Social Media Management Tools have to offer the following features:
  • Publishing
  • Monitoring / Responding to Social Media fans & followers
  • Measuring /REPORTING
  • Team Management and Workflow
  • Available for several Social Networks
As a consequence, in producing the infographic, we eliminated the tools that only helped managed one Social Network (Tweetdeck or Facebook Pages Manager, for example). There is an exception to this, however. When I produced a similar infographic last year, I excluded tools that only focussed on publishing such as Buffer. Although, as I mentioned above, Buffer isn’tTECHNICALLY a social media management tool, it is one of the most popular social media tools and its exclusion was felt. Therefore, I have decided to include in the top 5 this year, with the caveat that it only focuses on publishing with some analytics. In addition, we have only included tools that offered self-service access and transparent pricing. Enterprise tools such asViralHeat, that require a demo and do not provide public pricing (enterprise tools usually above $1,000 per month) have not been included.

How To Request Or Apply For New Google AdSense PIN ?

Requesting For New Google AdSense PIN

Monetized your Website or YouTube channel with Google AdSense and waiting for the AdSense PIN ?. Or don’t know how to get the PIN or  did you lost the PIN ? Here’s all the answers related to AdSense PIN Generation.

When Will I Get My AdSense PIN ?

This one is the common question which came to the mind of all AdSense users. After you reach 10$ Google AdSense will automatically send the PIN to your postal address. There’s no need to request your pin. You will be notified with a mail that your pin has been dispatched. Make sure that you have typed your address correctly in account settings because that is the address your pin will be sent to.

PIN’s often take up to four weeks to reach you by mail, though it may take longer depending on your location. If you didn’t receive your pin in 3 to 6 weeks, then you could request AdSense for the second pin. If you still didn’t got the PIN, you can request for the third pin. There’s chances that you had lost the PIN, in that case also you can apply for new PIN. But remember you can only request 3 times.

How To Apply For New AdSense PIN ?

To request or apply for a new AdSense PIN, you have to login to your account first.
Then,
  • Click the Gear Button on right top side and select “Settings”.
  • On the right side bar select option “Account Information“.
  • Then click “Verify address” link.
  • Scroll down the page and click on “Request new PIN”.
Don’t worry if you got the PIN after requesting for a new one. AdSense generates duplicates of same PIN, it will be same all the three times. You can enter anyone of them .

What If I Didn’t Get The PIN ?

Google AdSense allows you to generate PIN about 3 times. If you didn’t receive third pin, then you need to upload your photo identity or address proof’s like Gov ID proof, driving license, passport etc, to get yourself verified.
